a thousand times

this was the world
I will have to breathe in
for the rest of my life

My best friend treated me
like her favorite slave
I was afraid of upsetting her
What if I had to eat
my lunch alone
while she stole bites from someone else?

WINTER

I want to trust
trust so badly
but people aren’t trustworthy

SPRING

Dear me, you are the best version
of yourself
so don’t be disappointed
if they can’t see your worth
they don’t know about your struggles
but you do

Faith that Keeps you Going

His hands trembled and heart thumped. He seemed to be in a state of trance. Present and not present in the moment as time raced. In front of him, God sat on his throne with horde of people with their hands folded and mouths in continuous prayers. Everything else seemed invisible. Couple of devotees sat on the temple floor clapping their hands to match the rhythm of the hymn that created a charismatic atmosphere.
